2010 Census
June 30th, 2009 by Terry
Every 10 years, the U.S. Constitution requires a national census to count every person residing in the United States. It affects political representation and directs the allocation of billions of dollars in government funding. Census employees with proper identification may be appearing throughout the Town to verify and update addresses. (Please call 9-1-1 to report any suspicious individuals or activity. The police can verify census employee credentials if necessary.) Short census questionnaires will be mailed to every household in the spring of 2010. The law requires that you complete and return your questionnaire. If you do not return your questionnaire, census takers will visit your household in the summer of 2010 to complete the questionnaire. The information is confidential, and necessary for the apportionment of government representation and redistricting that will take place in 2011.
