Starting October 5, callers to the Public Safety Communications Center who report property damage crashes estimated at $2,500 or less will be directed to a site for self-reporting, and no officer will be sent. If vehicles are disabled and need wreckers, an officer will be dispatched to arrange them.
For hit-and-run incidents, an officer will take a report if the caller provides substantial details such as a license number. If no information is available—for example, a parking lot dent that was not witnessed—the caller will be guided to the self-reporting portal.
An officer will be dispatched for any crash with estimated damage above $2,500 or when injury is involved.
